On October 7, 2023, Amitay Cohen, a 22-year-old IDF (Res.) Infantry Unit Squadron Commander, ran toward danger to save lives. Under relentless fire, he treated the wounded, evacuated families, and fought to protect Israel–suffering severe injuries in the process.
Now, as he continues his recovery, Amitay is also looking forward to a new beginning: building a life with his beloved, Etya, whom he plans to propose to upon returning home. As a community, we have the privilege to take part in the mitzvah of bringing joy to a bride and groom, helping them start their life together with strength and security.
